Feb 6, 2017 Transfers "Really, I'm sorry!"

Konichiwa!
Hey, so it's transfer week and that means that P-day is Tuesday (for me) sorry for the lack of forewarning, again. But it's been an interesting week and the past couple of days have been a bit tense because we are all expecting to get our transfer call but they haven't come yet, oh well.

Monday (月 Getsu yobi):
After Pday was finished we did some night でんどう (Dendo - tracking) and it was ふつう(Futsu - normal) but at the end we got pick by Elder Foust to head down to the Zone Blitz. Basic definition of the Zone Blitz is that everyone in the zone went on じゅんかい (Junkai - meeting together?)  with someone they wouldn't normally.

Here’s a picture of our whole zone.

Zone predictions and there is a hidden message, completely accidental.

Tuesday (火 Ka yobi):
ZONE BLITZ!!!!!!!! So much fun! We stayed at the Okinawa elder's apartment overnight, which made about 10 people there, I did not sleep very well. Then we all went down to the church and got training from all the District Leaders in the Zone, Rowley, Tschirk and Houseknecht. Then we got our temporary companion assignment for the day. I got to go with Sherril 長老 (Choro - elder), one of the Zone leaders, and it was so much fun! Most of our でんどう was he answering and making phone calls but it was interesting. We then でんどう (Dendo - tracking) an apartment ぐんじん (Gunjin - note from blog author, I THINK that he meant to write Gaijin which means foreigner. He called the ‘military men’) and they were way fun to talk to. Now this is where the night takes a weird turn and some what pathetic, we did a じゅんかい (Junkai - meeting together) review, where everyone takes about how it went. When it got to Elder Mizukawa (good missionary) and Elder Lyutsov (not good missionary) Lyustov kinda of lied about how the day went. It was way aggravating and then he wanted to sleep in the same room as Elder Mizukawa and that caused everyone to move around, it was way めんどくさい (Mendokusai - troublesome).

They passed out watching The District videos.

Well, you know… why not?

Wednesday (水 Su yobi):
Today started with a drive back to Nago that started at 6:30am and I woke up at 6:20, yep loved it! But でんどう (Dendo - tracking) was different because we where out the doorでんどうing (Dendo-ing - tracking) at 10 which was way different feeling. And for dinner (because it actually notable this time) we went to Chicken Jambaru (note from blog author - here’s a LINK to a tripAdvisor review of the restaurant), probably the only Mexican restaurant in all of Japan and I got a plate of rice covered in chicken, way good!

tacos in Japan!?!?! Who knew?

Thursday 木 Moku yobi):
We でんどうed (Dendo-ed - tracking) this morning, so weird but way fun. Then did lunch studies & planning but Mizukawa and Housekencht had to leave early for a lesson they had, way exciting for them. Eikaiwa (english conversation class) was normal except we had a new student which was way exciting because the new Eikaiwa (english conversation) class is more focused on the younger people to help them with Ekiken and Toiec, which are these WAY hard English tests that the students take. So hopefully we will have enough people to effectively be able to do those classes.

My Fantastic drawings.

Friday (金 Kin yobi):
じゅんかい (Junkai - meeting together) me and Housekencht went down to Kyoda, the small village that me and Elder Mizukawa went to last week and でんどうed (Dendo-ed - tracking) there for a little bit, we decided to buy some muffins, which were way good. After that we went a little further south to a smaller village right below it and didn't have super effective でんどう (Dendo - tracking) but it was fun. After that we went to go eat at Cpt. Kangaroo, (note from blog author - here’s a LINK to a tripAdvisor review of the restaurant) that place is so good and then our night でんどう (Dendo - tracking) was kinda lame.

Fantastic Muffins!!

Fantastic Captain Kangaroo Burger

Enjoying the burgers.

Aren’t Sakura (Cherry Blossoms) pretty?

Saturday (土 do yobi):
WAY interesting day! so to start me and Elder Aoki went to go leave for early でんどう (Dendo - tracking) but I found out that the handlebars on my bike were loose so we made a run to Daiso (note from blog author - it’s like a neighborhood STORE) to buy some Allen Wrenches to fix it, then we went でんどうing (Dendo-ing - tracking) for a little came back for studies and lunch then we went to the church to help set up for a wedding reception, basketball and A&W (LINK). I drank 6 mugs and felt absolutely horrible and the last mug came back up. Then we went to the Kusaruma's wedding reception, super great 会員 (kaiin - members) and it was a ton of fun.

Done with everything at A&W.

The Kusaruma FuFuu (couple)

Sunday (日 nichi yobi):
Fast Sunday. It actually wasn't to bad, pretty it was ふつう (Futsu - normal) with fast and testimony as well. We finished up some other things we had forgotten to do with the LA (Less-Active) mapping and after dinner we went up to the college and でんどうed (Dendo-ed - tracking) the apartments near by, all while it was raining, some of the most fun I have ever had while でんどうing (Dendo-ing - tracking).

Monday (月 do yobi):
Interesting day. It started when I got a prank call from Elder Condor, my Zone Leader. He was pretending to be かいちょう (Kaicho - chairman / Mission pres) and that I was getting called to be senior companion and DL (District Leader). At first i believed him, but I got him to slip up a couple times so i figured out that it was a prank. Then Elder Houseknecht got a call from real かいちょう (Kaicho - Mission pres) and that usually meaning you are training. After that we went up to Nakijin, about an hour bike ride away and visited a member and her son and shared a small message with them. Then she took us it to eat, no it was good. Then we went back to the apartment so Elder Aoki could pack. He doesn't actually know his transfer but we're all sure he is leaving.

Puzzle time

Wow, this week had so much more stuff than I thought but it has been way fun and has gone by so fast.

Jan. 29, 2017 - Surprise

Konichiwa!
Fun Fact of the week, my email time has changed as has the entire daily schedule, I'll get to that later. But it's been a busy week and I don't think I actually took many pictures, oops. But let's get started...

Monday (月 Getsu - Japanese symbol for the moon or month. The first day of the week is moon day - Getsu Yobi):
Today we got a surprise visit from a member, she brought us all lunch because she heard that Mizukawa長老 (Choro - Elder) was sick, it was way nice of her and really good. After that we just kind of ung out until evening でんどう (Dendo - tracking) then me and Aoki長老 (Choro - Elder) went to go teach a potential investigator. Lucky she was there and we taught the restoration at her げんかん (Genkan - Japanese entry way to remove shoes). We got back to find the the 2 Elder, who didn't go out because Mizukawa was still sick, had a horrible idea, to start a 1,000 piece puzzle.

This is a Genkan.

Tuesday (火 Ka - Japanese symbol for fire. The second day of the week is fire day - Ka Yobi):
I taught a small bit of DTM today, it was supposed to be 10 minutes but.... I took about 20, oh well, they lied my training. After that an unproductive feeling afternoon but, in the Evening we were able to get a ton of RA's which was way exciting.

Wednesday (水 Sui - Japanese symbol for water. The third day of the week is water day - Sui Yobi):
Nice slow day and to top it off a lesson with our えいえんきゅどうしゃ (Eien Kyodoshya - eternal investigator) Shinohara, it actually went pretty good and we now have an idea on what to focus on.

Mizukawa got a hold of my IPad / us being goofballs!

Thursday (木 Moku - Japanese symbol for wood. The fourth day of the week is wood day - Moku Yobi):
Missionary Broadcast!!! Bednar, Oaks, Anderson and some other on. The missionary committee gave a training to all the missionaries, in which they emphasized teaching the Doctrine of Christ in context and in order, faith in Christ, repentance, Baptism, Receiving the Holy Ghost and Enduring to the End, and that was way cool. They also announced 2 new changes to daily life, new schedule, it's a lot more free rein and I'm now going to start でんどう (Dendo - tracking) at 10 then come back for lunch whenever we planned and we now only have 4 Key indicators, as opposed to 9, WAY exciting, this is going to be the first week with new schedule.

Friday (金 Kin - Japanese symbol for money. The fifth day of the week is Money day - Kin Yobi):
じゅんかい (Junkai - lesson?) with Mizukawa was way fun. We had a fantastic idea to bike about least 10 minutes with to a random little village and でんどう (Dendo - tracking) there. It felt so nice down there, almost like how it feels up at the Hakes’ “Shabin” up in Payson. After that we helped a former investigator get packed up for his stay at the hospital: I don't really know why but we helped anyways and that took a couple hours longer than expected but when we got back we ate dinner, still felt hungry so we had some white cheddar Mac and cheese and that was way good.

Saturday (土 Do - Japanese symbol for Soil. The sixth day of the week is dirt day - Do Yobi):
The Sakura festival was today but, we can't participate because it not Pday, drat. Pretty regular day of でんどう (Dendo - tracking) and sadly a RA (Return Appointment) appointment didn't happen, that's a real sad one. I also had 5 mugs of root beer at A&W, each mug is about 500mL. Yep, I wasn't feeling good but Houseknecht basically had a hangover from it.

He’s showing the FIVE mugs that I had and I’m just posing like they do in Japan by flashing the “Peace” sign.

Sunday (日 Nichi - Japanese symbol for sun. The sixth day of the week is sun day - Nichi Yobi):
Stakeたいかい (Taikai - conference) was way cool, but I only got the basic ideas of what was happening but it was still way cool. A member took us down and a different member brought us back home, which was way nice of them. After that we mapped out all the LA (Less Actives) and it took forever but we finally finished it which was way nice.

All tired on the way back to Nago

Question for everyone that has us missionaries stumped. How specifically has the gospel blessed your family? I would love to hear full stories but if you could condense to 1 or 2 sentences at the end so I can use it during でんどう that would be really helpful.
